Terms & Conditions

PRICE VALIDITY & PAYMENT TERMS

Price Validity

  • All quotations issued by Decotales are valid for 15 calendar days from the date of issue. Prices may be revised post validity period.
  • Rate per sq.ft. is fixed upon design sign-off. Any changes in design scope, finishes, or material upgrades will attract revised estimates.

Payment Terms

  • Payments made at any stage are non-refundable.
  • Payment schedule:
    • 10%: Advance booking to freeze the quotation.
    • 15%: Upon design finalisation to initiate detailed working drawings.
    • 50%: At production start; triggers calculation of committed delivery timeline.
    • 25%: Before dispatch of materials to site. Our payment terms are final 25% before dispatch of materials to site. Any payment being held or not paid then the penalty clause won’t be applicable.
  • Full payment must be cleared before the first slot of material (woodwork) reaches the site; necessary to procure hardware and ensure timely installation.
  • Delays in payment beyond agreed dates will extend delivery timelines; delay penalties will not apply during periods of client-side payment delay.
  • Any payments via credit card will attract a 2% surcharge, as levied by the bank, payable by the client.
  • Payments must be made only to Decotales’ official current account. Decotales is not responsible for any payments made in cash or to third parties.
  • No direct payments to Project Managers or vendors linked to them without taking approval in the group/email by Decotales authorities. Any such payments made or work carried out through them without mentioning in the main WhatsApp group: Decotales will not be held responsible for any unfinished work, payments, or anything.
  • If GST input is required, the GST-registered name, number, and certificate must be provided during the initial 10% payment phase while filling our KOC (Know Our Client) form. GST invoices cannot be generated for GST numbers shared later. Requests for GST bills after this stage will not be entertained.
  • The quoted prices apply only to this proposal. Modifications to design, material, or scope will affect pricing. Rates are based on provided floor plan sizes; final costs may vary at sign-off/production depending on actual site measurements or any design changes initiated by the client.
  • Initial site measurements require completion of plastering and flooring. Final measurements require doors, windows, plastering, and flooring to be fully complete. Additional measurement visits due to site incompleteness will incur extra charges.
  • All hardware, accessories, mirrors, channels, handles, wallpapers, moldings, partitions, upholstery, and specialized fittings will be detailed in the BOQ. Items not explicitly listed will be quoted separately.

DELIVERY TIMELINE & PENALTY CLAUSE

Timeline Commitment

  • Project completion timelines are committed as follows, starting from the date of GFC (Good for Construction) approval, based on project value and complexity:
    • Projects up to ₹10 lakhs: 45 working days
    • Projects ₹10–15 lakhs: 60 working days
    • Projects ₹16–21 lakhs: 75 working days
    • Projects ₹22–35 lakhs: 90 working days
*These timelines commence after final design sign-off and clearance of 75% payment. Actual completion may vary depending on project complexity, site conditions, and the budget selected by the client. If an extension is required, it will be communicated by the designer during GFC approval based on the final scope of work.
  • A grace period of 14 working days is applicable for delays due to unforeseen circumstances beyond Decotales’ control.
  • Handover and other activities for them to shift/painting should be planned after our handover date and should keep the grace period into consideration.
  • Alignment or fixing errors will not be treated as incomplete work. Factory-level finish accuracy is not guaranteed due to site modulations/repeated removal and instalaltion. Works executed on-site may not match factory-finish standards

Delay Penalty

  • Delay penalties apply only if the delay is entirely attributable to Decotales:
    • ₹500/day for project value below ₹8 lakhs
    • ₹750/day for ₹8–15 lakhs
    • ₹1000/day for above ₹15 lakhs
  • Timeline calculation starts from the later of:
    • Date of final design sign-off
    • Date of 50% payment clearance.

Fast-Track Execution Option

  • Fast-Track execution is available on request for an additional 10% of project value. Includes:
    • Prioritised production and site execution
    • Dedicated designer sessions
    • Limited design revisions and selection from readily available materials only.
  • Fast-Track execution timelines apply only if the site is fully ready, without third-party works ongoing.

MATERIAL SPECIFICATION & LIMITATIONS

Core Materials

  • ISI-certified Greenply plywood: IS 303 for dry areas, IS 710 Greenply BWP for kitchen/wet areas.
  • Sliding shutters use block board.
  • Acrylic/high gloss units: HDHMR recommended.
  • Finish brands: Skydecor, Merino, or equivalent approved catalogs.
  • Internal laminates: 0.8mm SF white standard unless otherwise specified.

Carcass & Shutter Construction

  • Hinged/Sliding wardrobes (2-door) include 5–7 shelves + 2 drawers by default. Extra drawers/shelves attract additional charges:
    • ₹300/sq.ft. for extra shelves
    • ₹1500 for normal closure drawers
    • ₹2500 for soft closure drawers
    • Push-to-open channels: ₹1000/drawer extra
    • Quadro channels: ₹2000/drawer extra
  • Internal structures follow standard configurations. Additional shelves, drawers, or customized modifications will incur extra charges based on design.

Handles & Accessories

  • Handle cost not included; payable based on selection on actuals. Installation charge of ₹1500/day for handles.
  • Hardware brands: Ebco, Hettich, or equivalent. Prices may vary with market fluctuations.

False Ceiling Conditions

False ceilings will use Gyproc channels and Saint-Gobain gypsum boards. Painting and electrical work are charged extra. Final ceiling costs depend on actual site measurements. Site readiness delays (e.g., incomplete plastering/flooring) may increase costs.

Material Limitations & Door Bending

  • HDHMR doors and long shutters are prone to bending over time. Clients can opt for 25mm HDHMR/straighteners based on what cost they approve. Door straighteners are strongly recommended to mitigate but not eliminate bending. If declined by the client, door bending is outside warranty coverage.
  • In the event of material unavailability during procurement, Decotales will provide a substitute of similar value after client approval, within budget constraints, to maintain project timelines.
  • All materials are chosen carefully by Decotales and will assure full warranty for the ply, laminate manufacturing, and also hardwares. All units with more than 400mm depth will be of soft closure. All lofts will be normal closure.
  • Non-availability of selected laminates, acrylics, or glass colors may cause delays in the scheduled project timeline. Decotales will provide equivalent alternatives for client approval if any materials become unavailable.

Additional Charges & Hidden Costs
Services like floor safety, debris removal, deep cleaning, electrical, plumbing, and civil works will incur additional costs if required. Customization costs are approximate and subject to final design approval.

COMPLIMENTARY ITEMS & CASHBACK POLICY

  • Complimentary items are subject to stock availability of the specific model. Equivalent options will be provided if selected items are unavailable.
  • Complimentary items will only be delivered after full payment clearance.
  • If the client requests cashback instead of complimentary items, it will be processed after project handover and full payment settlement.
  • Complimentary is applicable only based on the final BOQ value and Final approved GFC only.

SITE CONDITIONS & CLIENT RESPONSIBILITIES

Client Responsibilities

  • Ensure availability of:
    • Site electricity, service lift, restrooms, and designated debris area.
  • Site readiness: Delays due to external vendor works (civil, electrical, plumbing) without Decotales clearance will void promised timelines and penalty applicability.
  • Jointly conducted by client and designer; changes post signed off and moved to production (before production starts) will attract additional cost/timeline extension.
  • Masking & sign-off: Jointly conducted by client and designer; after sign-off confirmation, any changes will not be accepted without impacting cost and timeline.
  • Always check the 2D drawing and get all doubts clarified in terms of height, depth during site masking only.
  • We work on theme-based designs and suggest the best; clients should review designs in 2D and physical materials directly before approving, as screen-to-screen color variations exist in 3D. All designs will be executed as per 2D and BOQ only.
  • Handover and other activities for shifting or painting should be planned post our handover date, keeping the grace period in mind.
  • No third-party vendor should be working when our work starts; they should only begin after Decotales’ work ends. Decotales will not be responsible for any damage or missing items during periods when multiple vendors are working simultaneously on site.
  • Clients must provide electricity, site security, restroom access, and debris disposal areas. Failure to provide these will incur extra charges. Decotales is not responsible for any loss or theft during installation — clients should remove valuables from site.

Installation Risks

  • Minor wall damages, floor scratches, hand marks, or holes are part of normal installation. Final wall painting is client’s responsibility.
  • Any damages to plumbing lines during installation (due to missing/incorrect markings) are client’s responsibility.
  • On-site removal and installation/re-work will not assure quality finish, as each installation and removal degrades finish and increases risk of damage. Rework will incur extra cost and will not be covered under warranty.

Communication

All approvals, changes, or clarifications must happen via official WhatsApp group or email. Verbal instructions to carpenters or site supervisors will not be considered.

  • Acknowledge your claim within 3 working days.
  • Schedule site inspection (if required) within 7–10 working days.

Resolution Timeline:

  • Approved claims will be resolved with repair or replacement within 30 working days, subject to material availability.

IMPORTANT WARRANTY TERMS

  • Warranty is valid only when the client has cleared all payments and signed the QC report.
  • Warranty becomes void if:
    • Products are modified, altered, or repaired by third parties.
    • Products are removed resized and installed on site by client.
    • External vendors work on site without Decotales’ coordination.
    • Damage arises from misuse, negligence, or improper cleaning (e.g., harsh chemicals causing rust or laminate deterioration).
    • Acts of God like floods, earthquakes, or fire occur.
  • Any repeated on-site removal and reinstallation compromises finish quality and voids warranty for those items.
  • Hardware warranty is provided by the manufacturer as per their terms. Soft-close hinges and special mechanisms are chargeable additions.

NOTES

This warranty is non-transferable and applies only to the original purchaser.

HANDOVER DEFINITION & QC PROCESS:

Handover Definition

  • Handover is considered complete only when:
    • Decotales QC team completes site quality check.
    • QC report is shared with the client.
    • Client signs off on the QC report.
    • Minor snags, estimated at approximately 2% of the total scope and subject to material availability, will be addressed within 7–14 days from the handover date.
  • The handover date should guide clients to plan shifting, painting, or other activities after our completion, keeping grace period in mind.
  • A project shall be deemed delivered once structures are erected with required fittings and accessories installed. Alignment and fixing issues alone do not constitute incomplete work.

QC Process

  • Detailed inspection covering:
    • Finish quality (alignment, leveling, lamination)
    • Functionality (soft-closures, drawers, shutters)
    • Completeness of scope as per BOQ
  • Any pending points will be documented, and timelines for resolution shared before final QC sign-off.
  • Warranty coverage and official project closure depend on signed QC report.

DESIGN PROCESS, PRESENTATION & CLIENT RESPONSIBILITIES

Design Phase

  • 2D drawings are the only approved documents for execution; BOQ and 2D signed-off documents override 3D visuals.
  • 3D renders are conceptual; screen-to-screen color variations are common.
  • Material selection should be confirmed through physical catalogs or samples only.

Client Responsibilities

  • During site masking, clarify all doubts about measurements, heights, and depths.
  • Once sign-off is completed and moved to production, changes will incur extra costs/timeline extensions—even before production starts.
  • Ensure no third-party vendors work simultaneously with Decotales; their presence may lead to damage, misplacement, and voided warranty.

Design Presentations & Revisions
A maximum of six (6) presentations or design revisions will be provided to finalize 3D designs and material selections. Delays attributable to the client during the design phase may extend timelines. For every additional presentation beyond the 6 included, an additional charge of ₹10,000 per presentation will apply.

SITE READINESS & ELECTRICAL/PLUMBING

Decotales’ Expertise & Scope

  • Decotales designers and project managers are not specialists in electrical or plumbing works.
  • Designers/PMs are not qualified to provide technical advice on:
    • Location of switchboards, wiring, or plumbing points.
    • Load capacities, breaker requirements, or pipe routing.
    • Safety regulations, conduit specifications, or compliance standards.
  • Designers may assist in aesthetic placement of fancy lights purely as design elements, but they cannot advise on or plan electrical circuits, switch layouts, or plumbing lines.
  • Markings for electric points, plumbing routes, or placement of fixtures must be done by a qualified electrician or plumber.

Onboarded Vendors vs. Client-Hired Vendors

  • Decotales has onboarded, trained vendors who:
    • Work exclusively on Decotales projects.
    • Are trained on Decotales’ GFC (Good For Construction) drawings.
    • Understand Decotales’ design intent, materials, and sequencing requirements.
    • Coordinate with Decotales teams seamlessly, ensuring correct placement, minimal damage, and smooth execution.
  • Full coordination and accountability from Decotales is assured only if the client chooses Decotales’ onboarded, trained vendors.

Client-Hired Vendors

  • If clients hire external electricians or plumbers:
    • Decotales will not coordinate with external vendors or assume any responsibility for:
      • Damages to woodwork, existing interiors, walls, flooring, or site infrastructure caused by external vendors.
      • Misplacement of electric or plumbing points leading to rework, time loss, or design mismatches.
      • Delays in overall project timeline due to miscommunication or errors from client-hired vendors.
    • Decotales designers/PMs will not be available on-site to monitor, supervise, or correct work done by external vendors.
    • Any damages caused by external vendors on installed Decotales units or site elements will not be repaired or replaced at Decotales’ cost.

Client Responsibilities

Any external vendor work must conclude before Decotales mobilizes; simultaneous work by multiple contractors voids Decotales’ timeline commitment and responsibility for damages or missing items.

Ensure the site is fully ready before the start of Decotales’ work:

All civil, electrical, plumbing, flooring, and wet works must be complete.

The site must be cleaned, with all debris removed, and service lifts operational. If service lifts are unavailable, additional lifting charges will apply. Debris will be stored only in the designated area directly below the flat, typically in the basement via the service lift. If debris disposal outside the premises is required, separate debris removal charges will be applicable.

DESIGN PROCESS AS A MUTUAL PARTNERSHIP

Decotales’ Design Philosophy
At Decotales, we believe interior design is a mutual partnership built on open communication and shared responsibility. Clients are expected to share comprehensive details about their lifestyle, preferences, habits, and specific needs (e.g., elder-friendly features, child safety, pet accommodations, hobbies, unique storage requirements). This helps our designers focus on functionality first, ensuring every unit is practical, ergonomic, and truly tailored to your way of life — not just visually appealing.

Shared Responsibility & Flexibility
We value collaboration and flexibility but also believe in efficiency. To deliver the best experience, we expect clients to:

  • Actively participate in scheduled design meetings.
  • Provide timely inputs and approvals on designs, layouts, and material selections.
  • Respond promptly to moodboards, clarifications, and revisions.

Design Timelines Based on Project Budget
To keep your project moving smoothly and ensure profitability for both parties:

  • Projects below ₹15 lakhs: design finalization should be completed within 30 working days.
  • Projects between ₹15–25 lakhs: design finalization should be completed within 45 working days.
  • Projects above ₹25 lakhs: design finalization should be completed within 60 working days.

However, we understand life happens — if delays are unavoidable, we can pause the design phase at your request until you are ready to resume. Note that such pauses extend the overall project timeline accordingly.

Design Delays & Execution Impact
If delays occur due to:

  • Late inputs or indecision,
  • Frequent or repeated design changes,
  • Slow material or finish selections,

Decotales will not compress the execution timeline to compensate, as production, quality checks, and installation require dedicated time to maintain safety and finish quality. Requests to reduce execution duration to make up for lost design time will not be entertained, as rushing execution compromises the final outcome.

Please refer to the Design Presentations & Revisions Clause

This balanced approach ensures flexibility while keeping projects on track and protecting the quality of your interiors.

Design Changes due to Technical Non-Feasibility

At the time of execution, there may be design changes due to site conditions, material changes, technical non-feasibility. The client should approve these changes when brought to their attention by the project manager and the implication(s) thereof.

COPYRIGHTS

Designs shared with the client at any stage are the exclusive copyright of Decotales. The designs are shared with the intent that the order for the same is placed and executed by Decotales. Any designs shared by Decotales cannot be used, installed, and/or shared in any way or form without prior and written consent of Decotales.
Customized design presentations will be shown to the client on Decotales system which will be available for download and emailed to the client only after 25% of payment has been made towards the entire order.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQs)

Design & Materials:

Q1: Do you use branded plywood?
Yes! Standard package – We use ISI-certified Greenply or equivalent premium brands for core materials. For kitchens and wet areas, we use IS 710-grade ply, and IS 303 for dry areas, ensuring durability and long-lasting performance.
Custom package – We’re also flexible to work with WPC, HDHMR, or other premium-grade materials based on your preferences and project requirements, at additional cost. Ultimately, it’s your home, your choice — and we’re committed to bringing the very best to life for you.

Q2: Which laminate brands do you use?
We offer complete flexibility with top brands like Stylam, Airolam, Merino, more. Our quality approved catalogs are open for you to choose your preferred brand and finish.

Q3: Can you customize interiors beyond standard modules?
Absolutely. Unlike many brands that limit designs to fixed templates, Decotales specializes in fully customized interiors tailored to your lifestyle, with fair pricing for unique ideas — so your home is truly one of a kind.

Q4: Do you provide complete design suggestions and implementation?
Yes, Decotales handles everything from initial ideas, concepts, moodboards, and technical drawings to final execution. We guide you through the entire journey, ensuring your vision becomes reality.

Q5: Will my actual home match the 3D renders?
Yes — our projects match your 3D design by ~90%. However, since 3Ds include lighting, furniture, and decor for illustration, the final output will look even better in person. For laminate colors, we insist you see physical samples before confirmation.

Timelines & Execution

Q6: When does the project timeline start?
Timeline starts from the date of final design sign-off and clearance of 75% production payment of final BOQ, as clearly defined in your agreement.

Q7: What happens if I delay design approvals?
Delays during the design phase extend the total project timeline. Execution time cannot be reduced to compensate for slow approvals, as execution requires fixed durations for quality production and installation.

Q8: Can you deliver faster than committed timelines?
Yes — by choosing our Fast-Track execution plan (with a 10% additional project handling fee), which prioritizes your project, limits revisions, uses ready inventory, and accelerates manufacturing.

Payments & Offers

Q9: Are payments refundable?
No. Payments at each stage are strictly non-refundable as per our agreement. We advise you to read and understand payment terms before confirming your project.

Q10: How should I make payments?
All payments should be made only to Decotales’ official current account. We don’t accept cash or payments to individuals. Any unapproved direct payments to project managers or vendors will not be Decotales’ responsibility.

Q11: Can I get turnkey interiors with furniture included?
Yes — we offer complete turnkey interior services. From fixed carpentry to loose furniture, decor, lighting, and more, everything can be executed by Decotales for a hassle-free experience.

Q12: Do you import furniture from China if I want something exclusive?
Yes, Decotales can help import premium, unique furniture pieces from China on request — including sofas, beds, and decor — to create an exclusive look for your home.

On-Site Work & Handover

Q13: Can I hire my own vendors for electrical/plumbing?
Yes, but we don’t recommend it. While you’re free to hire your own vendors, coordinating with them can add stress, delay the project, and create quality issues. If you choose external vendors:

  • Decotales will not coordinate or supervise their work.
  • Damages caused by them will not be covered or rectified by Decotales.
  • We strongly advise using our onboarded, trained vendors who work as per our GFC drawings for smooth, stress-free execution.

Q14: Will Decotales coordinate with my external vendors?
No. Decotales designers and project managers are not electrical/plumbing experts. They won’t be available on-site to monitor external vendors’ work. Our accountability and responsibility extend only if you hire Decotales’ onboarded vendors.
